The inside of the Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 is no different from other recent Netbooks: It works with the components of Intel's Pine-Trail platform and Windows 7. In the Dell case but deviates from the standard: The screen is not as usual at the back attached to the housing, but a few inches in front. In the longer housing brings Dell at a flat 6-cell battery. IT IS the Inspiron Mini 1012 only slightly inclined, whether the battery is plugged in or not.

In a Netbook for 350 € should actually put a bit more than the Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 features: The hard disk of the Dell unit was only 160 GB in size, the WLAN worked only after the earlier 11g standard, Bluetooth was missing.

Conclusion: The Inspiron Mini 1012 is different from the netbook comfortable single-class design. For battery life, screen quality and keyboard, it is one of the better equipment, but offers for its price too little equipment.
